Noel Gallagher has pledged his support for Simon Cowell, saying the music industry needs more people like him.
The rocker, who is beating Cowell's latest X Factor champ Matt Cardle in this week's album chart, praised the mogul for his honesty.
Speaking to Shortlist he said: "Simon's alright, you know. I tell people and they're horrified, but it's true.
"If the music business was full of people like him, it would be a better place because he's real - he's not a bull*******."
He continued: "He's not pretending he's going home every night listening to The White Stripes. I know people in the music business who are pretending to do that, and it's like, 'You're into f*****g Hall & Oates. F*** off."
It is thought that the latest anti-X Factor Christmas No.1 effort will be Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.
