Contrary to claims made at the time, it seems Shane Warne and Liz Hurley got together before his split with Simone Callahan.
The scorned divorcee made the revelations in an interview with an Australian magazine, saying photos of the pair getting intimate in a lift last December were what finally prompted her to walk away.
Understandably, Simone also admits her confidence took a battering when she realised she'd been traded in for a 5ft 9in Estee Lauder model.
Posing in a swimsuit with new toyboy Toby Roberts, she says: "My confidence took a beating. Toby definitely rescued me at the right time of my life.
"There was a lot going on in my head at the time and confidence was totally shot... and still is to a certain extent."
Toby added: "I didn't want to plunge head-long into things because I knew you and Shane were very much together late last year. I thought it could have been a rebound situation."
Kids Brooke, 14, Jackson, 12 and Summer, 10, have also been feeling the strain. Simone said "They might hear things from kids at school and come and ask, 'What is happening?'
"But if you're honest with them and tell them how it is, kids are pretty resilient. I feel for them more than anything but they're used to him being away for long periods of time."
Despite admitting news of Shane and Liz's engagement is surprising, she declared: "I wish Shane nothing but luck. It's his life and he can do what he wants."
