The Three Musketeers star Orlando Bloom has admitted he was both excited and honoured to be reprising his role as Legolas in The Hobbit.
Directed by Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be acting as a prequel to the Lord of the Rings saga and will be seeing the return of several characters including Orlando Bloom's Legolas.
During an interview with The Sun, Bloom said: "I'm excited at the prospect. It's ten years ago that I started that journey, so the fact Pete wanted me to be involved was a huge honour."
"The debt of gratitude I owe him for everything, is huge... it's beyond huge. If he said, 'jump', I'd say, 'how high?'. I don't know how much there is for me to get in there, but it's going to be great."
The actor also spoke about his new film The Three Musketeers in which he portrays the Duke of Buckingham.
"It's a story that can be made for every generation and this is the one for this generation," he explained. "It's a 3D, crazy action-adventure - it's taking it to a whole other level."
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released December 14, 2012.
