Chris Martin has opened up about his relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Coldplay frontman rarely discusses his high-profile romance, but admitted on US TV that he feels like he has won the lottery.
Speaking to CBS' Sunday Morning, he confirmed that Paltrow is his first serious relationship. "That's right," he said. "I'm in it."
When host Anthony Mason pointed out that going from no serious relationships to being settled down with a family was "quite a leap", Martin joked "It's a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an Oscar winner?
"It's a giant leap. Let's face it; it's like winning the lottery."
The couple have been married since 2003, and have two children together - Moses, five, and Apple, seven. Chris revealed that being a father has given him "purpose".
"I like what it does. Just the idea of having to work hard so your kids are okay."
Coldplay release their new album Mylo Xyloto on October 24.
