Russell Brand Replaced By Ben Stiller In Rentaghost Movie

The big screen adaptation of British TV kids' comedy Rentaghost has replaced Russell Brand with Ben Stiller, according to reports.

Variety magazine reckon that the Night At The Museum actor has taken the reigns, possibly so that Mr Katy Perry can iron out some widely-reported issues in his marriage.

Brand's first bonafide Hollywood lead, as the title role in remake Arthur, opened at No3 at the US box office before vanishing off the radar fairly quickly.

Stiller, meanwhile, has continued to enjoy mainstream comedy success in Meet The Parents sequel Little Fockers and the second Night At The Museum outing.

Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, who wrote the latter, are penning the Rentaghost screenplay, and shooting is expected to kick off in 2012.
