Real Steel star Hugh Jackman has admitted he would love to have another go at hosting the Oscars but that Eddie Murphy will be perfect for next year's ceremony.
Eddie Murphy, who was chosen by X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner, has been appointed as the official host for the 2012 Oscars ceremony, to the delight of many stars.
Hugh Jackman told Digital Spy: "I think it's fantastic. I think most people thought that would never happen but it's ideal. My hat's off to Brett Ratner, who's the producer and obviously convinced him to do it."
He continued: "Eddie Murphy is Hollywood royalty, a huge movie star and great, great comedian. It's the perfect choice."
The actor also spoke about his own hosting experience during the 2009 Oscars and when asked if he would like to do it again he replied: " I'd love to do it again, but if I don't I'm forever grateful for having that shot."
Hugh Jackman will next be seen on screen in Real Steel alongside Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo.
Real Steel will be released October 14.
