Real Steel star Hugh Jackman has said he wouldn't be surprised if his upcoming The Wolverine film ended up as an R-rated film.
The 42-year-old actor explained they were looking to make the film a darker and more adult version of the comic book hero.
"There's such great temptation to make an R-rated Wolverine. I've always felt that, and I know a lot of fans would like that," Jackman told MTV News. "If there's ever going to be a superhero that is going to be R-rated, it's going to be Wolverine."
However the actor confessed the production team was hesitant to the idea of an R-rated film because of younger fans.
He added: "You see it in their eyes. He's everything to them. You need to have a really good reason to exclude those fans."
Hugh Jackman will next be seen on screen in Real Steel alongside Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo, in which he portrays a former boxing champion.
Real Steel will be released October 14.
