Melancholia star Kirsten Dunst has revealed she often gets frustrated and angry when working with controlling directors.
The actress, who has been promoting her new film Melancholia, praised the film's director Lars von Trier and insisted he did not treat her like a puppet.
"I've felt like a puppet on films before and have been really frustrated and angry," she told Contactmusic. "I mean, Lars might see himself as some master manipulator but that's not how he comes across.
"I mean, most of the scenes were improvised and he doesn't even say that much. How can that make me his puppet?"
The Spider-Man star also spoke about her experience as a young star, and revealed she enjoyed working with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Neil Jordan's 1994 Interview With The Vampire.
"It never felt like work, that's for sure," she added. "Brad and Tom treated me like their little sister, their little princess. But I think children handle things better than adults.
"As an adult, you get insecure. You're tired, you're worried about how you look and what it all means. When you're a kid, you just think, 'Oh I like my dress. Let's go and play!"
The actress also recently revealed she was looking forward to the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise The Amazing Spider-Man, which will be starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
