Amy Winehouse and her beau Reg Traviss had been planning to get married before her sudden death in July, the director has revealed.
The film director has revealed that the couple had been talking about where they were taking their relationship, but although the pair had not set a date Traviss says that they would've got married.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, he said: "Yes, absolutely, we had talked about getting married. It wasn't planned as in this date or that date, but it was a topic of conversation and had been for some time."
It had been rumoured that the pair had split up before her death, but Traviss has claimed that her death feels so "surreal".
"What felt surreal was not the cameras and the craziness but losing somebody, just like that. One minute I was speaking to her, the next she was gone," he explained. "You might say we were halfway through a conversation in our life together and then, suddenly, she disappeared."
The pair had begun dating in June 2010, and he describes Winehouse away from the camera as someone who was a "brilliant, brilliant laugh".
Talking about the Back To Black singer, Traviss said: "Amy was petite, and she was feminine, she was a brilliant, brilliant laugh, the complete life and soul of everything all the time.
"She could see situations coming, work someone out the minute they came in the room. She had great comic timing and when someone's as witty as she was, I think that indicates they are quite clever."
