Kelly Osbourne has announced that she is boycotting US airline Southwest after a lesbian actress and her partner were kicked off a recent flight after they were allegedly upsetting fellow passengers with their PDA.

The L Word star Leisha Hailey brought the issue to light and called for a boycott of the airline if they didn't make an apology following the incident on Monday (September 26). She asked for lesbian and gay people to boycott the airline for the discrimination showed against herself and partner Camila Grey.

The actress tweeted: "Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? Boycott @SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don't like us."

Osbourne, who is not gay joined the campaign and tweeted: "Dear @SouthwestAir ur archaic thinking makes me sick! ur discrimination towards ur passengers is deplorable! i will Never fly southwest! (sic)

"America is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave! so why when someone tries 2 be brave & free do u knock them down?"

The airline's bosses have claimed that Hailey had been asked to leave the flight after other passengers had been complaining about her "excessive" PDA.

A statement from Southwest airlines reads: "Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behaviour and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."
