Details of Coronation Street's gay wedding have been revealed after actress Sacha Parkinson claimed that her character, Sian Powers and girlfriend Sophie Webster will both wear dresses to their upcoming wedding.
Fans of the soap will see Sophie, played by Brooke Vincent, ask Sian to marry her out of guilt after developing feelings for Dev's daughter, Amber.
Talking about the storyline to The PA at the Inside Soap Awards, Sacha said: "We're both in dresses - thank God! I know I would have been the one that ended up with a suit, because Brooke just takes over everything! And we've been told it's going to be a nice glamorous proper wedding.
"Me and Brooke match all the time so maybe they should (have matching dresses). You know what Brooke's like she'll want something absolutely massive like off My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!"
However, it looks as though Sophie and Sian won't live in wedded bliss for long because Sacha will be leaving the soap at the end of the year.
Speaking of her impending departure, Sacha added: "It's going to be really sad but it's something good to get our teeth into and I think our fans like to see drama from Sian and Sophie. I think that's the best."
