The sequel to Thor would be well in the works, after the Marvel bosses revealed they already have a plot for the film and it will centre around Natalie Portman and Chris Hemworth's characters' relationship.
The sequel to the 2011 superhero film will be concentrating on the relationship between Thor and Natalie Portman's character, Jane Forster.
Kevin Feige, the Marvel president confirmed: "Thor 2 will primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for the Nine Worlds."
It still remains unconfirmed as to who will be directing the project, after Kenneth Branagh, who directed the first film Thor, revealed he was not returning for the sequel. It is rumoured that Broadwalk Empire's Brian Kirk and Monster director Patty Jenkins are being considered as replacements.
Until then, Hemworth's character Thor will be appearing in Joss Whedon's ensemble film The Avengers alongside Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, all respectively played by Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Rufallo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.
The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.
