When we think about Gary Barlow on the X Factor, witty remarks, words of wisdom and compassion come to mind, not mocking comments about a hopeful's belongings.
But sadly, reports have suggested that the Take That front man took the mick out of hopeful Ceri Rees as he went through her handbag, and tried to get the audience involved too.
In scenes that were cut from the show, The Sun reports that Gary sat with Ceri, whose rendition of Whitney Huston's I Will Always Love You was broadcast, and asked her why her bag was so important to her before going through it.
It is thought that the judge then took out her passport and told her: “A passport? Well you won't be needing this.”
A audience member said of Ceri's audition and Gary's behaviour: "It went on for ages. Then after she'd finished Gary got up and sat with her. She had her handbag so Gary was going on about why it was so special.
"He started rifling through it and found her passport. He held it up and mocked her and tried to get the audience to laugh with him. But people were booing."
An X Factor spokesperson commented: "Ceri has been taking singing lessons since she last appeared on the show and she wanted to have her vocals judged by a new panel as she hadn't been successful with the previous line-up.
"Her audition was the same length as the other key stories we have featured in the series and Ceri has assured the team that she is happy she auditioned for the show."
We can't believe Gary would act like this, can you?
