Captain America star Chris Evans has recently said he thinks The Avengers is a 'well balanced' action movie.
The actor, who will be returning as hunky Captain America in the film, has praised film director Joss Whedon for bringing substance to the superhero epic.
During an interview with The Huffington Post, Evans revealed Whedon has created a good balance between action and the development of the film's characters.
"There's obviously action, you've got all these superheroes, there's gonna be a constant battle; I think every ten pages, there's going to be some sort of action. But you can have all the action in the world - if you don't have some substance, you got nothing," he said.
According to Evans, it also helps that The Avengers director is a comic-book fan.
He added: "It's not easy trying to bring all those characters together and find a story, but the best thing about Joss is that Joss is a fan, Joss is a comic book guy. It feels so nice working with a guy that is, well, the people I am trying to please is Joss. Joss is one of those dudes."
The Avengers will be a cross over of several superhero Marvel films and will see a bunch of hot men return to the screen. Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth are back in their respective superhero costumes as Iron Man, The Hulk and Thor in this superhero bonanza.
The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.
