Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker has said she relates to her character in her new comedy flick I don't Know How She Does It because she's a working mother.
The actress recently admitted she can identify herself in her character because she too is a working mother-of-three.
During an interview with USA Today, Parker explained: "There's a lot that was very, very familiar. Perhaps more importantly, I thought it was a story that would be enormously resonant with a lot of other women. Women that are working in the home as much as outside the home - it's their story."
The actress spoke about her character Kate Reddy in Douglas McGrath's comedy: "My character's not wealthy. She's middle management. She's telling a story that's not always told. It's like an essay on parenting in these specific modern times. Women want so much to be all things to all people, to be loved at home and be well-regarded professionally."
Finally Sarah Jessica Parker also discussed her own experience as a working mother. The actress described how hard it was to juggle between a family and a professional life especially when some women might find it hard to put the needs of their families ahead of their personal goals.
"I've been working for a lot, a lot, a lot of years. I've never been a super-ambitious person, but I do understand you're working towards something, which is better opportunities based on the kind of work you've tried to produce," she added. "It's been hard to say no. It's the choices you have to make as a mother."
