Gerard Butler has recently admitted playing King Leonidas in Zack Snyder's 300 has been his favourite role of his career.
The actor, who has been confirmed to appear in the sequel to the film, revealed he loved shooting the action film because King Leonidas was his favourite role.
"I've got to feel that there's a real reason to go there, to do a second one, because I loved the first," Butler told People magazine. "I hope that they write a great script and I hope that I love it. That was my favourite role, and it would be great to go back there and have some fun with it."
Butler has currently finished filming Coriolanus, where he plays alongside Ralph Fiennes and Brian Cox.
But the actor will next be seen on screen in Machine Gun Preacher in which he portrays Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker who becomes a crusader for Sudanese children.
Directed by Marc Forster, Machine Gun Preacher will be released November 18.
