It looks as though we weren't the only ones to be surprised when news broke that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony had split up.
Admitting that he didn't "expect" Jen to break up with her husband of seven years, and father to her twins, MTV News reports X Factor USA judge Simon Cowell admitting: "I didn’t see it coming. They always seemed to get on. They would bicker, but everyone bickers."
Although the split has come as a surprise for us, it was revealed today that Jen wanted to split with Mark in 2008 after finding out that he'd been having an affair (read it here).
With the auditions for season eleven of American Idol due to start soon, it is thought that Jen will shortly announce whether or not she will return to judge alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
