This weekend saw Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announce their split after 7-years together, news that has not come as a surprise to those close to the On The Floor star.
It has also been revealed that the pair actually decided to end their marriage just hours before they were meant to attend the BAFTA gala at the beginning of the month.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair were set to be the guests of honour at the event, joining Prince William and Kate Middleton at the top table. However, Jennifer's mother ended up accompanying her to the glittering bash.
But an explanation for Marc Anthony's no-show and the absence of JLo's wedding ring was given on Friday night, with the singer's spokesperson releasing a statement, announcing the couple's impending divorce.
JLo's stylist, Phillip Bloch told the paper: “This is not a surprise.
“Marc is very controlling. In the beginning she liked that because he stood up to her, and in the early days he was very much in love with her and she was with him.”
He added: "She fought to make it work for the sake of the children.
“She desperately did not want a third divorce.”
