Maria Shriver filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger yesterday after 25 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences".
TMZ.com reports that Maria is requesting spousal support and joint custody of their minor children, Patrick and Christopher. Attorney Laura Wasser filed the petition, which also requests Arnold pay the legal fees of both parties.
It is also reported there’s no pre-nuptial agreement, so everything accumulated during their marriage will be divided in half. The total amount is thought to be $400million. Wowzers.
The settlement with be confidential and won’t go to trial. Sources tell TMZ.com Maria and Arnold are on speaking terms and trying to make it amicable and easy. Maria first met with her lawyer, Laura Wasser back in May.
The couple announced their separation at the beginning of May, and the reason was soon revealed to be because Arnold admitted he was the father of the family’s maid, Mildred Baena’s son.
