Imagine going to work and having to wearing a fat suit everyday… it would be awesome! You could stuff your face with cake all day long without having to worry about those few extra pounds showing up on camera! Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman has admitted that she loves wearing her “fat clothes” when playing the lane’s Lynette Scavo.
In an interview with BBC Breakfast she joked that last year saw her being constantly pregnant on the show, explaining: “The writers do the heavy lifting. I just try not to mess it up. Last year I was pregnant forever. I kept lobbying for it. There are parts that are compressed and parts that are elongated. I think I just like being in fat clothes.”
The show has seen a number of reality TV shows aired around the subject of desperate housewives, perhaps the most popular and successful one being The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Felicity was keen to point out that their take on the whole things is extremely heightened, whereas the reality representations show a more accurate outlook. She said: “There have been about 86 deaths on Wisteria Lane. There is a lot that goes on behind that beautiful lane. It's an odd place. There are many. I think they're pretty accurate. Ours is heightened. It's poking fun and not losing touch of reality."
