Jai McDowall overcame his nerves on this evening’s Britain’s Got Talent live final to impress the judges with his rendition of Josh Groban’s To Where You Are.
Simon Cowell said: “That was you at your best.”
He added: “For the first time I saw you come out on the stage believing you could win.”
The music mastermind did temper his praise with some criticism, though saying: “The vocal was a little bit monotone, it could have done with some light and shade, but it was still terrific.”
Michael McIntyre said: “I love your voice, I love your passion. You do seem very stressed!”
He added: "I’m sure the whole of Scotland will be voting for you tonight."
David Haselhoff said “you sang with your heart” and Amanda Holden said: “I think actually that you could be the dark horse in this competition.”
