Orlando Bloom will wear pointy ears once more, as director Peter Jackson has revealed the actor will reprise his role as Legolas for the big screen adaptation of The Hobbit.
Orlando played the character in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and after much speculation it is definite that he’ll be back.
On his Facebook page, Jackson said: “Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I'm excited to announce today that we'll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older—and he doesn’t! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf.”
Filming for the two-part prequel is underway in New Zealand, and other actors visiting Middle Earth include Ian McKellan, Andy Serkis and Elijah Wood.
New additions include Stephen Fry, who’s playing The Master of Laketown, and Benedict Cumberbatch, whose involvement was accidentally revealed by Martin Freeman at the BAFTA TV Awards.
