Cameron Diaz has said that the death of her father has made her re-evaluate how she lives her life.
Emilio Diaz was just 58 when he died of pneumonia in 2008, and the Bad Teacher star admits that his death made her look at how she wanted to spend the rest of her days.
She told Cosmopolitan: "Things have happened recently that have pushed me to grow. My father died, and having gone through that really made me think about my life and how I want to live it.
"I don't care what other people think. It's my life - I live it the way I want to."
The 38-year-old added that getting older has made her feel more comfortable in her own skin, saying: "I think you get better as you age. You know what you want, and you become stronger mentally, emotionally and physically."
Cameron has recently gone public with her relationship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez, which had been previously been one of Hollywood's worst kept secrets.
