Earlier this week it was speculated that Prince William and his new bride, Kate Middleton would soon make their first official visit to the US.
And now the news has been confirmed using Twitter by Clarence House.
They tweeted: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit California, USA from 8th to 10th July 2011”
Further information was posted on the official Royal Wedding website, stating that the newlyweds will visit California after their Tour of Canada in July.
It was also revealed that Prince William has never visited America in an official capacity and that Kate has never visited before at all.
An itinerary of their trip will be published at a later date. We can imagine the flags lining the streets now!
