OK! has reported that Cheryl's Geordie accent has hindered her chances of landing one of the roles and instead, country star Jessica could be Simon's right hand woman.

Jess has sold over 20million albums worldwide which makes her a good choice to advise the wannabe singers.

The mag claims that the singer is excited about the opportunity and hopes Simon Cowell will pick her to join the show.
