Simon Cowell musn't be used to not getting his own way after the media mogul was said to be "seething" after a plan to steal Jennifer Lopez from American Idol for the US version of the X Factor backfired.
According to the Mirror, Si was close to persuading the Latino beauty to cross over, when fellow Brit and owner of American Idol,Simon Fuller stepped in and persuaded her to stay on the show.
A source revealed: "Jennifer was perfectly happy with Idol, for which she earns $10million, until Cowell lured her away with all sorts of ludicrous promises. Fuller flew in specially to have a quiet word with her in which he pointed out that he wouldn’t be making the Latino project she is so keen on unless she stayed."
They added:“Jennifer quickly saw sense and pulled out of US X Factor, which is why you’ve got this unseemly scramble for judges going on as we speak."
