Hollywood stars, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem welcomed their first child into the world yesterday.
Yesterday brought with it two pieces of happy news for the couple. Not only did they have their baby but Javier was also nominated for an Oscar for his role in Biutiful.
According to the Daily Mail, the news of the birth was reported by Spanish newspaper, El Pais who revealed that the baby had been born in Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai hospital.
The couple married in a private ceremony last July and have always remained secretive about their relationship. In keeping with this, the sex and name of the baby has not yet been revealed.
The couple are loved up despite keeping their relationship behind closed doors, with Javier publicly thanking his wife when accepting his Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.
He said: “I share this joy with my friend, my companion, my love: Penelope: I owe you a lot and I love you so much."
