Michelle Williams split from Heath Ledger just a few months before he was found dead in his apartment in January 2008.
However, despite their split, Michelle has revealed that she doesn't believe she can love anyone in the same way she did the Brokeback Mountain star.
Currently promoting her new movie, Blue Valentine, Michelle told The Times: "That's the tough one. It's like nothing will ever be that whole again. You just want impossible things.
"I've had to get down on my hands and knees and sift through the muck and mud, and try to find little pearls, little nuggets of things that make sense."
However, Michelle admits she is happy being single but would also be open to meeting someone to share her life with: "When you've had love, you always, in a way, have it. I am single but either is fine with me. I'm used to being single. Would I like to be with someone? Yes, I would."
Could her new co-star, Ryan Gosling be that person?
