Charlie Sheen was taken to hospital on Monday night following a reported meltdown at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
According to reports, police were called to the actor's room in the early hours where they allegedly found a half-naked Sheen lying face-down on the bed. He had caused a reported $7,000 worth of damage to the room.
The real concern, though, was the female escort screaming for help from inside the bathroom.
A source said: "She was fearing for her life and was naked. Charlie was incoherent but started screaming slurs at the cops.
“They recognized him immediately and gave him two options: they could take him to the hospital or take him down to the station. Charlie chose the hospital."
Eyewitnesses reportedly saw Sheen – still dressed in just his shorts and a bathrobe – being ushered into an ambulance at 2.30am.
"The paramedics were heard calling it an overdose," an onlooker told Life & Style.
"But he was definitely awake before leaving the hotel as he made the choice to go there and not the jail."
Sheen was on a ‘family’ holiday with ex-wife Denise Richards and their two daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, all of whom were asleep in separate rooms at the time of the commotion.
Sounds like someone's gonna have one heck of a headache this morning.
UPDATE: The escort has since told police that she locked herself in the bathroom after Sheen started trashing the hotel room.
