X Factor reject Gamu Nhenga has failed to win a wild card place on the show.

TV Bosses rejected pleas to reinstate Gamu – who faces deportation to Zimbabwe after her mother wrongly claimed state benefits – despite a Facebook campaign to bring her back.

The 18-year-old said she is devastated by the decision and may face a firing squad if forced to return to her native country.

She told the Sunday People: “I'm a total mess. People want to know if I'm OK - well, I'm definitely not OK.

“I don't understand. I'm a good person, what have I done to deserve this? I feel so responsible I have put my family through all this.

“My two brothers have had to be kept out of school because they are so upset and it's all my fault. If I hadn't applied for the X Factor none of this would ever have happened.”

Cheryl Cole - who would have mentored Gamu – faced a backlash for failing to put the hopeful through to the live finals.

She claimed that she didn’t include Gamu in her final three on the advice of producers, who were aware of her situation.

Last night, the judges picked Treyc Cohen, Wagner, Paije Richardson and duo Diva Fever as their wildcards to join the final twelve.
