Rumour has it that the Jonas Brothers could be close to splitting up as Joe Jonas pursues his solo music projects.

The brothers have made their names as a trio and have even carved out TV and movie careers thanks to their music.

However, E! News has reported that Joe is keen to go in a new direction, without his younger and older brothers.

A representative for Hollywood Records told E!: “We are planning for an early 2011 release.”

An insider added that Joe “wants a more dangerous sound,” something that is “sexier” with a “Justin Timberlake” vibe.
