Michael Douglas attended the New York premiere of his new movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps on Monday night.

The 65-year-old Oscar winner is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy after doctors discovered a lump in his throat earlier this year.

Though clearly having lost weight, the star seemed in good spirits as he snuggled up to wife Catherine Zeta Jones on the red carpet.

The star had missed a photo call with the rest of the cast earlier in the day but was reportedly determined to attend the premiere.

“Michael is trying to enjoy every moment of the time he has with his friends and family and taking nothing for granted," a source told PopEater.

"He was determined to attend this premiere. Nothing, including cancer, could have stopped him."

Despite being diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of cancer, Michael is staying positive about the future.

He told reporters at a press conference for the movie: “My doctors are optimistic, I’m optimistic! Life goes on. It’s just another chapter.”
