And after secretly marrying her Vicky Cristina Barcelona co-star, Javier Bardem at the beginning of the summer, rumours that the actress was expecting a baby began to do the rounds.
And now the happy news has been confirmed by a spokesperson for the couple, who said: "Penelope is 4½-months pregnant.”
