Ever wondered how Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's Twilight Saga characters got their names in the first place?
Well wonder no more as the Saga's author, Stephenie Meyer has revealed why she gave them the names Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.
Now magazine has reported that Stephenie chose the name Edward for her leading man as it was both traditional and romantic. Edward was also the forename of two of literature's greatest romantic heroes, Mr Rochester (Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte) and Mr Ferrars (Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen).
And as for Isabella Swan, Stephenie who is the mother of three sons, chose the name she had picked out if she ever had a daughter.
It was also revealed that Stephenie named the Volturi so as the word means vulture in Latin. Very fitting we think!
