Sex and the City's sauciest star, Kim Cattrall has received an honourary degree from the Universoty of Liverpool in the UK.

The American star is best known for her role as the irrepressible Samantha Jones in Sex and the City but the actress was actually born in the British city.

Kim was honoured with the degree today at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and wore the traditional blue gown and cap as she accepted the honour.

Kim is currently spending time in Liverpool as she prepares to star in an upcoming production of the Shakespeare play, Anthony and Cleopatra.
