John Mayer is on the prowl again and he's got his eyes fixed on star, Cheryl Cole (or Tweedy, we're not quite sure yet).

A source has told Now magazine that the singer thinks Cheryl's reported boyfriend, Derek Hough is just not hot enough for her. And he is, naturally.

The source said: "John thinks she’s completely stunning. He keeps hoping she may be the woman to tame him. He loves the fact she's independent and sexy - all the things he looks for in a woman.

"He's met Derek out and about and thinks he's 
a nice guy, but not 'hot enough' for Cheryl. John keeps saying Derek might be the kind of guy you want to marry - but he's the kind of guy women want to date."

We think Cheryl should keep her wits about her as John is known for breaking the hearts of some of Hollywood's most famous ladies.
