This morning we reported that Brittany Murphy’s husband was found unconscious by his mother-in-law and died after paramedic’s were unable to resuscitate him.
At first it was believed that Simon died from a heart attack but now it seems as though that could have been triggered by a drug overdose.
A source told TMZ: "There were a number of pill bottles on the nightstand in the bedroom, and some were empty."
According to the site, many of the drugs found were the same as those on Brittany's bedside table in December of last year.
A law enforcement officer has said that Simon’s death will be treated as either “natural” or as an “accidental overdose.”
Brittany’s mother found Simon’s body, just five months after she found her daughter’s body in the same house.
