We've just returned to our desk with armfuls of toilet roll as we continue to sob that Season 6 of The Hills will be the shows last EVER!

For years we've enjoyed the fashion, the dating and the fights but it will soon be time to say goodbye to Kristin Cavallari, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt and their co-stars.

A source confirmed the news to PEOPLE and since we only just got over the end of Laguna Beach with The Hills we're not sure what to do with ourselves...

The last 12 episodes will air from April 27 and may just be the best yet, with Heidi heading to see her rents after her 10 plastic surgery ops and Audrina's romance with Ryan Cabrera.

The President of MTV's Programming, Tony DiSanto issued a statement: “We are lucky and honored to have worked with this cast and tell their stories for this long, and we are grateful to the many dedicated fans who have stuck with us over the years.

“We owe it to those fans, the cast and the show to go out on a high note. And this season will deliver on that goal in terms of drama, story, real emotion and an organic culmination of this saga.”

Most excitingly of all perhaps, is the Entertainment Weekly reports that the shows creator, Adam DiVello has hinted that drama  that started in LagunaBeach with get tied up. Does this mean we'll see the return of Lauren Conrad for a head to head with Kristin!

We'll just have to wait and see...
