For all you Grey's Anatomy fans out there, you will be sad to hear that Dr Izzie Stevens, played by Katherine Heigl has hung up her white coat for the very last time.

Yep, according to okmagazine.com, Katherine Heigl who has been in Grey's for six years, has left the hit show because she wants to concentrate on making movies.

Although Katherine had taken time off to spend with her daughter, she was due to get back into the role of Dr Izzie on March 1st and film the five remaining episodes of the season.

But when that time came, Katherine wasn't there, even though a source close to her said, “she was at home and ready to work.” However, another source claimed that “it's much more complicated than that.”

Well we're going to miss seeing Katherine on our screens every week but we wish her the best of luck for the future.
