Are you shaking your head? Yeah, so are we, so we're surprised to hear that Jessica Simpson still cares for John Mayer after what he did.

If you've been under a rock for the past couple of months you won't know that John Mayer got a bad case of verbal diarrhoea when he did an interview with Playboy magazine and described Jessica Simpson as “sexual napalm.”

When John apologised for opening his trap, Jess refused to accept it, so why does she still care?

Talking on The Late Show with David Letterman, the starlet said:

“Normally you'd think someone you care about would keep those details to himself. It was definitely a compliment, in a way. I don't really want people to know that about me. I'm like the good girl, then that happened...he gave away my game.

“(But) I will always care about him. I think he's a great person, a great musician.”
