The great Alexander McQueen was remembered once again as his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection was revealed in a series of private presentations in France.

According to the Daily Mail, the show had the theme of angles and religious icons with the models having bandaged heads and feathered mohawks.

The clothes portrayed the excellent thought and design work of Alexander McQueen with brocade minidresses and dramatic capes. The colours were not restricted either as the pieces reflected a palette that went from the rich and decadent to whites and greys.

The Independent's Susannah Frankel said:

“This was a heartbreakingly beautiful and perfectly judged tribute to one of the greatest talents the fashion industry has known, realised by a tightly knit ans gifted group of people who have protected his name and what it stands for since he started out.”

Alexander McQueen chief exec Jonathan Akeroyd also paid tribute to the late fashion designer:

“It was all inspired and developed and all patterns were cut by Lee.”

Before his death, a catwalk show was meant to be used to show of his collection but decided to make it a more private affair after what happened:

He very much had a vision for his show concept, but it didn't feel right to do that without him. We decided this was the best way to do it in a very low profile environment- the most appropriate way in light of what has happened.”

Witnesses at the show, embraced the sombre mood and likened the show to a memorial rather than a fashion show.
