Alice in Wonderland has smashed Avatar's record at the American box offices and is making its mark in the UK too.

Tim Burton's latest cinematic offering and has had the biggest 3D and IMAX openings in history, even beating James Cameron's epic, Avatar.

The film made a staggering weekend total of over $116.3m in America and took £10.7m in the UK. Globally the film took $210m!

Alice has also had the biggest March opening weekend release ever, beating Mr Bean's previous title of £6.4m by a whopping 6.8%!

Alice in Wonderland is Johnny Depp's 7th collaboration with director Tim Burton and after its success we are sure they'll be plenty more where that came from!
