American Idol is hotting up with everyone making sure they sing well to keep their place in the competition.

But for Crystal Bowersox, one of the top ten girls, that dream has been given a set back.

And it couldn't have come at a worse time as it was the turn of the girls to sing first.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Crystal was hospitalised, prompting the show to switch the order and let the ten boys sing first.

According to usmagazine.com, a rep said in a statement: “American Idol's 10 guys and 10 gals are swapping nights this week due to medical issues afflicting one of the women semifinalists.”

As they say in showbiz, the show must go on and that's what happened, with the show's presenter, Ryan Seacrest sending his best wishes to Crystal:

“Crystal, If you're watching, we hope you feel better very very soon.”

The LA Times reported that Crystal is a diabetic but there has been no confirmation of the reason behind her stay in hospital.

It is hoped that Crystal will be well enough to sing on Wednesday's show...but in the meantime, we hope you get better soon Crystal!
