Nicola has always been one of Girls Aloud's most slim members, but it seems that constant speculation about her tiny frame has annoyed the singer.

She fears that young fans of the band will try and copy her “naturally small frame” and calls those who talk about her weight “irresponsible”.

The singer spoke to Closer magazine and said, "Everyone talks about my weight, which is ridiculous. I'm a size six (U.S. size two) and I'm not ashamed of that.

"I have a naturally small frame. I've not starved myself or exercised every day. It's irresponsible for people to obsess over it because I don't want girls to feel they have to have the same shape."

The star always seems to have her fans in mind and Nicola was recently at the forefront of a campaign to promote fake tanning, rather than the use of sun beds.
