With her divorce to husband Ashley imminent, it is time for Cheryl to fly from the marital nest and set up home as a single gal.

According to the Daily Mirror, Cheryl is due to move out of her Surrey mansion and buy a new place in Highgate, North London.

Wanting to have a fresh start, Cheryl will be miles away from her husband but closer to her Girls Aloud band mates.

Since the scandal broke, friends and family have been rallying around the northern star with Simon Cowell offering support.

A source close to Si said: “Simon has been having fatherly chats with her. He loves her to bits and is very protective of her. He has told her he is on the end of the phone whenever she needs to speak.”
