Because before Stefani Germonatta became Lady Gaga, an old flame doubted her ability to make it big.

But look who's laughing now!

In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, she says:

“I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song and that he hoped I'd fail.”

A touch of jealously perhaps?

But she was quick to shoot him down...

“Someday when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.”

At a girl!

 Lady Gaga maybe enjoying the fruits of her labour now, but it wasn't so easy in the beginning when she “ate s***for so long” trying to make it big.

“I've always been delusionally ambitious to the point where people don't understand me.”
