When celebrities talk about God, its usually to thank them for their outrageously successful careers or for their talent that has made them famous.
But Elton John is different. In an interview with American magazine, Parade, he said:
“I think Jesus was a compassionate super intelligent gay man.”
Right. OK then. So where did this odd comment come from?
Well, Elton made this comment whilst talking about lesbians trying to survive in the Middle East...why...we don't know!
“I don't know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East- you're as good as dead.”
His praise for Jesus didn't stop: “On the cross he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving.”
As well as revealing what he thinks about Jesus, Elton also opened up about his drug taking and relationship past.
“Just about every relationship I ever had was involved with drugs. It never works...but I longed to be with someone good or bad otherwise I didn't feel fulfilled. I'd lost the plot.”
