If you're listening to Rihanna's latest musical offering, Rated R right now and you're thinking it's sounding deep and meaningful... It's because the Bajan beauty used the album to vent.
She told Australia's The Daily Telegraph, “making this album was a lot of fun I have to say, it was really good for me.”
The umbrella ella ella singer's Rated R album was “a cathartic experience” and was the first piece of new material that was released after the incident that left her battered and bruised by her then boyfriend, Chris Brown last year.
Talking about the music on the album, Rihanna said:
“The vocal performances definitely were influenced by emotion. The feeling.”
“I wasn't just singing lines. I was singing every word and every word meant something because it was my story. It was a lot more personal, a lot more real...I was venting.”
Well her music still gets the thumbs up from us, RiRi's still got what it takes to make her songs as catchy as ever!
