The real winner of the show, though, was an excruciatingly humble Lady Gaga.
She walked away winning every category she was nominated for, leading Peter Kay to quip: "She's won every award tonight apart from best male, and that was a close call"
Looking like a cross between Marie Antoinette and a lace factory, Gaga started her performance with a stripped-down piano version of Telephone.
She then took the audience into very unknown, very brilliant territory when she started playing a musical contraption which was a cross between a double bass, a piano and a sampler.
The performance went down a treat, and would have been the most bizarre part of the whole night had Courtney Love not been onscreen for a full three minutes without slurring once.
Gaga dedicated her performances and her awards to the late Alexander McQueen and thanked her little monsters ovr and over again.
As she took the infamous teacup onstage to accept one of her awards from a 'pimped-out' Jonathan Ross, Gaga showed Britain how far she's come since her kooky interview on his show last year.
