Across the world, celebrities have been expressing their grief over the death of British designer, Alexander McQueen.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who was a good friend of the late designer, has released a statement to People.com:
"I am shocked and overcome with grief about the untimely death of quiet genius Alexander McQueen.
"There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be."
The Sex and the City actress added: "What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, his greatest achievements lay ahead of him.
“The future would be whatever he hoped to make of it,"
In another statement, Victoria Beckham described the designer as a "true great."
The former Spice Girl added that McQueen was: "An icon of all time. He made all he touched beautiful and will be desperately missed.
“My heart is very much with his family and friends at this very sad time."
Cheryl Cole, who famously wore a £4,000 sheer dress designed by McQueen, said the fashion world has lost "one of its most talented and inspirational figures."
Helena Bonham Carter, Kelis, Jonathan Ross, Celine Dion, Anna Wintour, Matthew Williamson, Boy George and Vivienne Westwood are just some of the other celebrities who have expressed their condolences in the past day.
The 40-year-old’s passing comes at the beginning of the New York fashion week. Model Naomi Campbell and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe have both been spotted visiting his New York store to pay tribute.
